What does "Toda Sexta Feira" and "Justo Agora" mean?
Those are my favorite Brazilian songs right now, but I have no idea what they mean.

Please help. :)

"Toda Sexta Feira" means "Every Friday"
"Justo Agora" and "Logo agora" mean "now, of all times" (implying it’s a bit importune)

Good Work everyone Appreciated and hey Impulse how bout a Top 10 then LOLz
Rob-O It was based on a series of polls I did for each year of last decade where I listed a whole bunch of albums for the year and got people to choose their favourites. These were the ones that got more than 3 votes.
***This is working out well to separate the nominations that seemed out of place or may have been released in a weaker year for Hip Hop so please keep nominating because each no 1 vote is worth 50 points each no 2 49 etc… and will be used to separate up the final results for the clearest picture***
I can’t choose a best answer so thanks for your efforts! To be continued…

are you serious????

50. Stillmatic - Nas

I haven’t listened to MMLP, Fantastic Vol. 2, and Stillmatic since I was like 13 years old or younger. So my memory on how good those albums were might be a little off.

I did the list this time on overall quality heavily weighted on production. But some albums surpassed other better produced albums based on the quality of the rapping (like Industry Shakedown). My list is pretty accurate in terms of the order. But whenever you make a top 50 of anything, the order of the lower ones is going to be relatively half @ssed.

BTW, With this answer I finally reached Level 5. It’s about time. It only took me about 1 and 1/2 years.

Made in Brooklyn is more of a complete album too me…i can listen to it all the way through…No Said Date is great, but theres some skipable tracks. I actually like both alot…i may have ranked No Said Date a little low…probably because i played it out and dont listen to it as much anymore (although Secret Rivals is one of my favorites all-time)

The vast majority of that list would be good choices, with a few exceptions: The Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Flaubert works are too advanced for the great majority of teens, and Ulysses too complex probably for any teen. On the other end, the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs are too simple. If you’re looking for fast paced adventure in fantastic settings, there are many writers more recent than Burroughs who do it far better.

Of the books listed, my personal favorites are Pride and Prejudice, The Trial, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Huckleberry Finn (although the last 1/3 or so of Huck Finn is not nearly as good as the earlier sections). The Sherlock Holmes books on the list are also great, and I loved reading them at about your age.

I would begin with the smallest book and work your way up to the largest book. If you start with the largest book first, you might get overwhelmed.
I would recomend reading Alice and wonderland. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I got through it in less than a day too. I have a shot attention span so that’s saying a lot

Help with adult education?
Hello, I am recently out of work and am looking to return to education in order to improve my career prospects. I am 28 years old and did complete a few GCSE’s but didn’t really try as I didn’t have any interest in school at the age of 15/16 and I cant remember what my results were.
Off the top of my head I got C D in science (double award) C in maths and a B in english. ( a rough guess)
I want to get a degree in either mathematics, science or english. Please tell me were to start as I am looking at beginning a course in 2010.

Thank you in advance for any answers.

Take some classes at your local community college, and take a look at the courses you need to get a degree.

How can I be forceful but tactful about how I feel about my life?
Some background stuff;
I lived with my parents and younger brother until the age of 6. My parents divorced and I had to move into one room, with my mother & brother, in my maternal grandparents’ home. I lived there for a year before we were granted a rental property in the town near my grandparents. After about two years we were evicted as another family was willing to pay more rent, and we lived in the same room at my grandparents’ again for a few months.
We were then granted another rental property (in the middle of nowhere) where my mum remarried, and had a daughter. So now there is 5 of us. We were later evicted again when the company who owned our house, went bust, and had to sell on.
Back in with the grandparents, luckily by this time, the guest room had been re-plastered and was actually inhabitable, so me and my brother were put in this room. My mother and sister were in the smaller room, my step-father lived in a flat, in a nearby town.
After another few months of this we were given a house in a village, again, in the middle of nowhere. The house had no carpet, no proper wallpaper/paint, the shower was broken, the garden was a dirt patch, and all kinds of other stuff.
Now onto my life with my father. He moved to a town in the Midlands, 80 miles away. He lived in a tiny flat alone, until he met a woman, and they started dating. After this he lived with his parents for a couple of months, before buying a house in the same town, still, 80 miles away. Me and my brother, still talked to him every night on the phone, and visited him once a week.
In 2003, two months before his 35th birthday, my dad was crushed to death in a motorcycle accident. The funeral was held shortly afterwards, and I took only 3 days off school because of it.
A year later, my mother had a fourth child, I had another brother.
Soon after that, my step-father started shouting at me for the ‘little things’ I did. And later began verbally abusing me because I didn’t do what he told me to do, for example, I’d wash dishes a different way, or say something in a manner he found inappropriate. When I was 14, he punched me. He did this about once a month, for a year and a half. He also threatened to kill me twice, pulled me by my leg down the stairs, held me against a wall by my throat while screaming in my face, and punched in a door trying to get at me. My mother guilt-tripped me into 1. Not calling the police/childline and 2. Not leaving the house sooner.
When I was 15, I discovered I was gay. My step-dad found out from reading my emails, and told my mother. They both gave me silent treatment for at least a month.
A year later, a good friend asked me out (we’re still together now), and after explaining this whole story to his mother, she said I could move in with them (his father had also passed away, the year before mine) until University started, in the next year. After two months of living there, she started to passive aggressively abuse me. She would make comments about my behaviour, regulate how I spoke in the house, and generally treated me as a lesser being. After making arrangements with the regional youth associations, she evicted me, and I now live alone, in a house with 6 other people.
I have my own room opposite the kitchen, and next to the shower room. I was given a bed & mattress, a sink, a chest of draws, a fridge and a tiny wardrobe. I have to live off of ?30 a week, which has had to pay for all of my food, my school equipment, rent, entertainment etc.
I have depression, anxiety & paranoia which culminate in me frequently thinking of killing myself, just to stop all this "pain", thinking everyone is an enemy (including my family, friends and partner) and generally feeling crap all the time.

Now, after all of this has happened, I have everyone around me tell me, "What a great position I’m in"

So I ask you, how can one be tasteful, while giving a big middle finger to anyone who thinks my life is great?

Don’t give other people any more authority over your life than they have already had. This is your journey, albeit so far a really bitter one. But, no one else can live it for you or tell you how you are supposed to live it.

After all you’ve been through, though I don’t know you, I’m glad you’re still with us. When horrible things happen to me, I feel exactly however I need to feel in order to come to terms with the situation. "Tact" and "tastefulness" are inappropriate and inadequate for your situation. You need to express your emotions - bottling them up is how cancer happens.

Get pissed off! Get hysterical! Cry and kick and scream! Write rants like this one - keep a journal too! I’ll bet there’s all sorts of creative energy boiling inside you - waiting to be tapped into. What are you good at? What makes you feel most alive?

Above all, please please be original. A very unique (and tragic) sequence of events led you to where you are now. Don’t ever lose your unique-ness. A tough one like you doesn’t need some detached third-party like me to hand you cookie-cutter bullshit answers from the internet.

If you find yourself in a better way and the spirit moves you, please also remember to help someone else who is suffering.

Can a Golden Retriever live in an apartment?
Hey Yahoo. I’m 14 years old and live alone with my dad in a 2 bedroom apartment. There is a decent sized living room and a kitchen as well. My question is, is a golden retriever a good dog to have around the house? As long as I am in the house all my attention will be devoted to the dog. My dad works in the same building he lives in (he’s the landlord). He works full time and I go to school from 8 am to 2:20 pm. My dad would come upstairs for a few minutes a day to keep it company while I’m at school. When I get home from school I would walk it a good 1.5/2 miles a day. I live in New York so by summer time I would take him to the park and beach almost every day.

I am really looking into just this breed of dog. I really hope it’s okay and I can get him, but I don’t want the dog to be depressed all day. I would get a female because their smaller.

Thanks.
Brooke, my dad is a chiropractor and I don’t know if he would want a dog running around his office when grumpy people are waiting to be adjusted lol. But he is mostly worried about the dog, "Sh*tting all over the place". haha

A Golden Retriever could live in an Apartment.
But you have to give him or her lots of exercise.
A golden loves to be doing something.

Sure, a Golden Retriever can thrive in any home, or any breed for that matter. You just need to exercise the dog a good amount. How about having you dad keep the dog in his office if he is the landlord? It’d be better for the puppy to not be left alone from 8-2, that’s too long.

ADD: If that’s the case then usually people are happy to see a puppy, but I understand what you’re saying. Well, he must have a office completely seperate from his entire practice right? How about just keeping the puppy in his enclosed office, or just keeping the puppy in a crate in his office, that way he can watch the puppy so he won’t poo all over the place, and you’ll get housebreaking done quicker.

Goldens are wonderful dogs. Obedience training, exercise a must. I can see nothing wrong with your situation. I know many active dogs who have thrived in less ‘perfect’ circumstances.
Launi *Built Ford Tough* | Feb 06, 2010

If you’re considering this breed for an appartment make sure you get one with a more laid back temperment and that there is a park somehwere in walking distance you can bring the dog to run around and play. This also means you’ll have to make sure the dog will come to you when you call it so it can run relatively freely.

i have almost the same life as you it works fine for a male dog
William | Feb 06, 2010

it depends on how often you get out, and what you do for a living. id be happy to help tho. if you work long hours, no. Absolutely not. where would it stay? but, if you work only a couple hours a day, it should be alright. they need lots of attention, and exercise. if they don’t, they will be considered neglected, and that wouldn’t be fair to the dog. but, im sure if you go out and can take this dog, y’all will be a perfect couple :) Long Neck(: | Feb 06, 2010

Absolutely. Goldens can live well in places as small as 500 sq. feet. I have a golden mix, who is full grown at 55 lbs. and he has lived in an apartment his whole life. He adjusts well and I take him on walks often.
Marie | Feb 06, 2010

yea it would work fine!…as long as you actually stick to your plan. i have a golden retriever and he requires a lot of attention. if you do get a golden, make sure you keep him exercised and not fat. they tend to age quicker in looks when you don’t give them the exercise they require. the only fall back would be while you were at school. when i am at school, my mom talks about how she plays with my dog a little bit (about 5 minutes at a time) just to keep him entertained enough until i get home. so you should ask your dad if, while you are still at school and he is home from work, if he would be alright with petting her every once in a while. hope this helped you figure out some way to keep her happy! they are wonderful dogs!
Anna | Feb 06, 2010

A Golden Retriever can live in an apartment…. BUT.. They are VERY active dogs that love to be doing something!! They need LOTS of exercise… But if you keep him busy with lots of chew toys and exercise the dog should do fine.. :) If you get one PLEASE make sure you spay her..
Shelbi | Feb 06, 2010

as long as you are dedicated to giving the dog enough exercize and training, ANY dog can live in an apartment setting.

be aware goldens are smart and need some mental stimulation as well as exercize.
Pink Teacup Pachyderm! | Feb 06, 2010

It would probably be better not to get the retriever, they’re pretty big dogs and even though you would walk alot with it, majority of the dog’s time would be in a tiny cramped apartment. You should look into maybe a minature pincher, or something.. Poodles get a bad name but I have one, they’re great dogs, 2nd most intelligent, hypoallergenic, don’t shed, playful, and various sizes.
Yea, you could probably get a retriever, but it wouldn’t be very fair to the dog.
good luck.
beutifulblacrose | Feb 06, 2010

I had a Golden Retreiver in a house from the time he was a puppy. When he was 8 years old we moved to an apartment. He lived to be 16 years old. We walked him 4 -5 times a day and there was a park close by where I could let him off the leash to run. They love to play fetch a ball and frisbee. If you are getting a puppy, training is essential to be able to let him/her run off the leash if you have a safe and legal place to do this. A Golden Retriver is well suited to apartment living.
jem | Feb 06, 2010

Yes a golden retriver can live in a apartment my daughter has a weimaraner they are huge dogs and we live in a small home. your dad will be able to help you alot. and when you get out of school just make sure it gets some exercise. it sounds like you have your heart set on geting a golden retriever and i think thats what you should get. they are so friendly you will love having one.
